MLS has developed and initiated a comprehensive safety program that has led to an excellent safety record. Under the direction of our full-time safety director, MLS's General Safety and Accident Prevention Program is implemented on every project and is effective in providing a safe and healthful work environment.

Our safety Program is designed to assist every employee in practicing safe operations while conforming to 0SHA and MSHA regulations as we interpret them and sound construction practices. It is the responsibility of MLS supervisory personnel to ensure that the concept of "safety-first" attitude is communicated to each individual to its fullest extent through safety training, awareness of job hazards and strict enforcement of the safety policies.

MLS implements this General Safety and Accident (GS & A) Prevention Program by:
  • Requiring safety training and drug testing for all personnel
  • Strictly enforcing published safety policies
  • Requiring all subcontractors to designate accountable safety representatives for the project and adhere to the MLS GS & A Prevention Program as a minimum standard for safety policies
  • Ensuring that scheduled tool box safety talks are held
  • Emphasizing safety as the primary issue in all construction operations and meetings
  • Providing a safety coordinator in the field that reports directly to the home office's Director of Safety and administratively to the resident construction manager and/or president
At MLS, our primary goal is to complete each project accident free.
