Smith, Jr., Inc. was established in 1984 as a corporation, incorporated in the state of Louisiana. We are contractors, currently classified as a small business, conducting open (merit) shop operations. The company was originally established to carry on more than thirty-five years of experienced service in Refractories, Tile Tanks & Linings, Corrosion Resistant Construction & Linings and Gunite applications. MLS obtained and began working under National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessels "R" certification and ASME "U" and "PP" certifications in 1988. We built our first tank in 1990. Today, with management and personnel having over twenty years of experience, our organization performs tank, pressure vessel and general structural & other steel site work nationwide, and we fabricate and manufacture tanks, vessels and other equipment items for shipment nationwide. Our current main offices and facilities in Ruston include a 4,000 square foot office complex, an up-to-date 20,000 square foot steel fabrication shop, a 14,000 square foot refractories installation, handling & storage warehouse, an additional 4,000 square feet of covered laydown & storage and ten acres of material laydown yard and area for future expansion.
